Presentation Details:

This introductory class focuses on the fundamentals of fall protection, essential for ensuring the safety of workers at height. We cover the ABCs of fall protection:


• Anchorage: Points that support the entire fall protection system.

• Body Support: Harnesses that distribute fall forces across the body.

• Connectors: Devices that link the harness to the anchorage, such as lanyards, decelerators, and lifelines.


Practical Demonstrations Include:


• Live Suspension Demonstrations: Demonstrating the correct way to wear and adjust harnesses and how trauma straps can be used effectively to prevent suspension trauma if a fall occurs.

• Drop Tests: Using weight simulators to demonstrate the dynamics and impact of a fall, emphasizing the importance of correct equipment and setup.

• Harness Fitting and Inspection: I’ll show how to properly fit a harness and conduct pre-use inspections to ensure safety before use.


These practical elements are designed to provide both a visual and hands-on understanding of how fall protection equipment works and why proper usage is crucial.
