The Safety Workshop: Data Analysis

This course introduces students to the principles and methods of data analysis in the context of occupational safety and health. It emphasizes practical data analysis techniques used to identify trends, assess risk, and support decision-making in safety programs. Students will work with real and simulated data to perform descriptive and inferential analyses, visualize safety trends, and develop data-driven safety interventions.
Meet the Presenters:
Julio Fierro, CHST, CRIS, SHEP is the Lead Instructor for the Safety Academy with more than 20 years of hands-on experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS). He has supported a wide range of high-profile construction projects, from mid-rise buildings to complex, multimillion-dollar developments, including Block 185, Circuit of the Americas (F1 Racetrack), Samsung Taylor Fab 1, hospitals, and college football stadiums. Julio brings deep expertise in developing and implementing safety programs and managing risk across contracts and operations. His experience also includes overseeing incident investigations, managing various types of claims, and leading policy development, updates, and implementation. He is passionate about coaching and mentoring safety professionals and sharing his real-world experience with the next generation of safety professionals, as well as with anyone seeking a better understanding of the challenges within the safety industry and practical strategies to address them.
