This course provides safety professionals with the knowledge and skills required to manage injury claims effectively—from initial incident reporting through to return-to-work processes. Participants will understand the regulatory, procedural, and ethical aspects of claim management and learn how to reduce claims costs through proactive strategies.
Meet the Presenters:

JULIO FIERRO
Julio Fierro, CHST, CRIS, SHEP is the Lead Instructor for the Safety Academy with more than 20 years of hands-on experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS). He has supported a wide range of high-profile construction projects, from mid-rise buildings to complex, multimillion-dollar developments, including Block 185, Circuit of the Americas (F1 Racetrack), Samsung Taylor Fab 1, hospitals, and college football stadiums. Julio brings deep expertise in developing and implementing safety programs and managing risk across contracts and operations. His experience also includes overseeing incident investigations, managing various types of claims, and leading policy development, updates, and implementation. He is passionate about coaching and mentoring safety professionals and sharing his real-world experience with the next generation of safety professionals, as well as with anyone seeking a better understanding of the challenges within the safety industry and practical strategies to address them.
BARRON BALDWIN
As Safety Manager, Barron is responsible for the oversight of Cerris Builders’ Safety Program and coordinates all OSHCON inspections of our job sites. Barron coordinates and/or conducts safety training classes for all field employees and supervisors. He supports each project team on the safety program and risk management for each job site. Barron is a Certified Safety and Health Official. He administers safety documentation and reporting in Procore and OpenSpace, and manages driver safety in Samsara. Barron has been instrumental in the success of our company’s safety program, decreasing our exposure and attaining over two million man-hours with no lost time accidents.
